The Red Splashed in Malayalam 'Bougainvillea'

    The secrecy lies in the color red, the same as in the Bougainvillea. Red could be of danger, red could be of love, beauty, caution, attraction. The color holds a power within. The movie never tries to break the mystery of red. In fact, it restate the mystic nature by connecting the 'redness', with the appealing fragrance of Bougainvillea. Giving a non-human its own space and maintaining its presence throughout, is what the brilliance of the film did to the audience. Bougainvillea is not a character in the film but it is scattered in the wholesome of the movie and pushed it forward. 

    The space given to the flower in the film is commendable as it connects the scene and the storyline. The red bougainvillea somehow captivate the viewer in such a way that it attract our attention, it warns us, and at times it smirk at us. Most of the scene in the movie is filled with the color red. Even though, red plays an important part in the movie, the redness of the bougainvillea becomes a constant. The caution of bougainvillea cannot be avoided by the viewers. The bougainvillea witnessing the cruelty for centuries, communicating to the world through its own possible way, but never succeeded till the last and final witnessing was ahead of her. 

    It really is a movie to study on. The presence of nature, being a constant and the fleeting behavior of human life is been portrayed in the movie as the two sides of a coin. The direction, the characters, the cinematography all did its part to the level best. The chilling moment watching the movie will remain for hours even after watching the movie. As any film, there will be an outstanding element to each one. As much as Canapé Cup is concerned, the star of the film is the red bougainvillea. It plays an inevitable part throughout. The redness thus serves the spiciness to the film. Canapé Cup's taste buds could never resist the spicy red bougainvillea which tastes like Red Chilly.
